Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarship Programs
HSF is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. In support of its mission to double the rate of Hispanics earning college degrees, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund provides the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. During its 31-year history, HSF has awarded more than 78,000 scholarships totaling nearly $195 million to Latinos from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands who have attended more than 1,700 colleges and universities.
High School Scholarship Program
The High School Scholarship Program is open to graduating high school seniors who will enroll full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution the following academic year. Students must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The application period is September 15th to December 15th of every year. Awards are distributed in the fall upon receipt of enrollment verification at a two-year or four-year institution. Award amounts range from $1,000 to $2,500. Community College Transfer Scholarship Program The Community College Transfer Scholarship Program is available to community college students who will transfer and enroll full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited four-year institution the following academic year. Students must be at least part-time at their community college and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The application period is October 1st to February 1st of every year. Awards are distributed in the fall or spring upon receipt of enrollment verification from the four-year institution. Award amounts range from $1,000 to $2,500. College Scholarship Program
The College Scholarship Program is available to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution. Students must have already completed 12 units or credits at a college or university in the U.S., Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The application period is August 1st to October 15th of every year. Awards are distributed in the following spring. Award amounts range from $1,000 to $2,500. Gates Millennium Scholarship Program
The Gates Millennium Scholars Program is available to graduating high school seniors. The program offers substantial scholarship awards to exceptional high school seniors for study at the college or university of their choice. More information can be found at: www.gmsp.org. Eligible applicants must have a minimum 3.3 GPA, demonstrated leadership skills, and significant financial need. The application period generally opens by September and closes mid-January.
